He was a big part in the steadiness for the squad in these games. He’s got an edge on many players is his size and length of stride so he can keep some plays alive that others can’t by pinching in earlier and retreating with patience defensively. My notes will filled with little things like simpler ways to set up rushes, small ways to draw a bit of pressure before passing, and little nackhanded saucer passes up ice which seemed like a breeze. The key for his game seemed to be the quiet simplicity which led to the effectiveness. Those little lead passes and slight puck race battles were part of the positives. He did whiff on a couple shot attempts and did have a couple moments where speedy forwards got behind him through the neutral zone but overall his play was very solid.
