What I really liked about Généreux’s game here is that he was always looking to take the initiative, playing a proactive style of game that allowed him to be engaged offensively and kill plays before they could materialize on the defensive side of things. His best work came in his own zone, where I thought he kept a strong gap while defending along the perimeter to seal puck-carriers along the boards and kill plays using either his stick or his frame. He made a few really solid stops while defending off the rush as well by guiding puck-carriers to the outside and either blocking a centering pass with a shrewd stick play or finishing them off with a hip check along the boards. He had a handful of intelligent activations off the rush, jumping into space up high that allotted him some puck touches at the top of the zone which resulted in some scoring chances for him.
