Development Opportunities: Physical Growth, Defense
I think Cohenn is the player who is furthest from reaching their potential in the possible star category. Cohenn picks apart defensive structures well and uses his lateral stickhandling to pull pucks and shift on his inside edges to slash his way into higher threat areas. If he maintains his focus, adds size and strength, and pushes himself to work with teammates in order to produce offense, he might be one of the most electric scoring threats to come out of his draft. He’s a player that you want to reach for probably a little earlier than he should go based on where he is today but it’s a gamble worth taking in my opinion.

I still think he’s one of the most curious players in this entire draft from a projection standpoint. At this point he’s one of the highest puck skilled players at the smallest projectable frame. He’s able to toe drag pucks with incredible control and such a wide range that opens up space and lanes in prime scoring areas. I think against some of the tougher teams he was trying to attack one on one too much for my liking and I would have liked to see a bit more change of pace and turn backs but overall when he grows those types of plays will work at such a higher frequency. Some moments he was choosing finesse instead of establishing physical position or powering through in moments which speaks to understanding where he is currently. He’s one of the best danglers in this draft though and is truly dangerous on the PP coming off the half wall. His lateral passing is precise and his intellect shows so well.
