The leading scorer in league play this season had a tougher time getting space and opportunities at 5on5 in my view due to his size and length of north-south skating stride. There is no denying his intelligence and the way he makes smart outlet passes, feathers lead passes to linemates, cycles pucks back to the point, and finds ways to play that smart possession style under duress. The skill is no doubt there and he had plenty of small ice moments to show it. The biggest hurdle with him will be projected growth for a player of his size to make up for the pacing.
