It’s tough not to truly enjoy watching his ability to create in flow and constantly adapt to change angles and test defensive groups. He’s very smart, explosive laterally, and shows high end puck control in high traffic. I liked his ability to play playmaker on the PP from the right side, drawing all the attention to himself, and showing he can snipe pucks from the middle of ice himself too. He’s always moving with energy, outsmarting players in motion, and bursts through his crossovers and tests players side to side. I love when he’s slashing into the interior and finding those scoring angles. I feel like he’s going to just keep getting better and better.

EVENT General
I’m not sure there was someone from Saskatchewan that had their name circles on my metaphorical papers than Mr. Ramazanov last season. He’s shifty, intelligent, understands how to delay on the wing and find passing lanes into the interior. Oftentimes, he was the true catalyst and a spark for offense that Saskatoon Generals were needing. It meant that when he was able to touch the puck both off the cycle or on the rush in the offensive zone, you knew the potential for grade A chances were high. For a player who was certainly undersized, he used give and go style plays to attack the middle, and wasn’t afraid to put himself in the middle of the ice when needed too. I believe he is slated to join NAX U15 Prep this season alongside three other top notch linemates. Expect offense.

This was certainly the toughest team I’d seen Danel go up against and while he gave you all the flashes of why he’s a high-end offensive threat, I thought SSM did a good job of keeping him to the outside and forcing his skill to shoot from further away. He certainly got robbed on a one timer and had a multitude of other plays almost work out but this was a good example of how to quiet a player like Danel best you can. He still showed long stretch saucer backhand passes, his ability to settle pucks quickly, his accurate shot off the rush, and his touch passing on the exterior to set up space for others. It was good to see him against some other offensive dynamo players.

He finished with a goal and an assist in this game because once he was able to escape pressure and get off the boards on the outside, it meant more time and space to be dangerous. It led to spinning off coverage, heavy drag and snap moves in motion, snapshots far side and looking to get around screens, and also bursts of power off the rush to get behind defenders without the puck. He continues to come across to me as incredibly aware and smart which allows him to find smaller openings and gaps. It is a tip of the cap to him as his goal came off a net front tip too. I think its great when he isn’t afraid to push into the interior.
