EVENT 2024 Toronto Titans Tournament
D'Andrea was one of the defenders in the tournament that I was most impressed with for his offensive involvement. Within the offensive zone, Dante was rarely standing around passively and was constantly rotating into open space and looking for ways to involve himself in the sequence. He had some clever off-puck routes to move into open space backdoor or into the high slot, receiving passes for quality scoring chances. With the puck, he was confident to walk the line and relied on his lateral mobility to skirt forecheckers and attack shooting lanes. He scored two goals over my viewings of the Lakers, all revolving under this theme of involving himself in the offensive zone and sparking scoring chances. I saw flashes of him operating breakouts with control, moving pucks up ice, and showing good defensive habits, but really, most of my notes revolved around his stellar play in the offensive end. The Huron-Perth Lakers have no shortage of players who caught my eye, so I'll be seeing plenty of their team and will be keeping a close eye on Dante to further untangle more of his game outside of the offensive zone.

D'andrea's mobility was the focal point of my notes, typically for how he used his feet in the offensive zone. Dante was rotating around the offensive zone, walking the line confidently, and pinching to keep plays alive, and it all revolved around his feet, getting him around the ice effortlessly. Dante is a powerful straight-line skater with all the lateral mobility required to shift direction, giving him all the tools to adapt to any situation and make a play. Like many skaters on this Lakers' team, they are well on my radar to include in my final top 100, and Dante is one I figure is a likely candidate to crack my rankings after some more views over the OHL Cup.

I was once again impressed with D'andrea for his play in the offensive zone. I thought he was a solid distributor from the point, always looking for open forwards in scoring areas and connecting on some clever passes in the offensive zone. Especially on the powerplay, he knew where the puck needed to go and was a key piece of their offence. There was just a sense of confidence when he had the puck on his stick, never fretting under pressure and looking to make something happen. This was my initial assessment of Dante's game at the Toronto Titans, and it was nice to see it hold true and be the core of my evaluation once again.
