EVENT
2024 Hockey Québec U16 Summer Camp
Bibeau-Rivard has been a personal favorite of mine from this Québec group since I got a glimpse of him last December, and this event did nothing to hinder that sentiment. He was one of the better transitional attackers throughout the entirety of camp, consistently using his high-end speed to keep defenders on their toes and either turn them around or hit a quick delay to gain separation and execute a pass to a trailer option. He’s very multidimensional as a rush attacker, using lateral cuts across defenders with a combination of slip or drop passes depending on what the defense is giving him. It’s this ability to process information on the fly that makes me such a fan of his game. Off-puck he takes really solid routes to the net, timing his arrival perfectly which he used to score a couple of backdoor tap in goals off the rush throughout camp. He did have the luxury of mostly playing with Duclos-Claude and Nolette-Robidoux who all play for the same club team, but he also showed great chemistry with Alexis Joseph in the one game they played together, a testament to his ability to adapt and play with high-level players.

EVENT
2023 QMJHL Cup: Phase Two
The non-stop motor and compete level of Bibeau-Rivard made him noticeable every time he stepped on the ice. There were so many instances throughout games where he would hustle hard on a backcheck, force the turnover, then fly back up the ice to join the rush. His feet are constantly moving in all three zones, whether it be to pressure the other team or hound for loose pucks. He possesses plus level offensive skills as well, including an impressive set of hands that he uses to be an effective puck transporter through the neutral zone. His high-end speed makes him very difficult to contain off the rush as defenders back up a bit more to not get turned around. His ability to process the game at high speeds really rounds out his offensive game and makes him a versatile threat. He showed great chemistry with Emrick Nolette-Robidoux and Jérémi Duclos-Claude (also teammates of his for the Noir et Or), demonstrating an ability to use his skill in accordance with his line mates rather than rely on individual efforts. He’s definitely one to watch for the 2025 QMJHL Draft.

2024 Hockey Québec U16 Summer Camp: Québec Blue vs Québec White (Game 1)
While it wasn’t my most effective viewing of Bibeau-Rivard, his speed as a puck carrier still allowed him to play an integral part in his team’s transition game. He was able to drive back defenders off the rush every time he entered the zone, even getting a step on them a few times and cutting to the net for an in tight chance. The playmaking at full speed was a bit hit or miss for me, as he was often just throwing pucks to the middle hoping something would come of it. His best moment came in the second period when he won a race to the loose puck in the neutral zone for a two on one and then slipped a pass through a defender to Alexis Joseph who scored.

2023 QMJHL Cup: Team Québec U15 Blue (4) vs Team Québec White (3)
This was another impressive game from Bibeau-Rivard, who’s high level of compete and pace of play are apparent every shift. He always has his feet moving in the offensive zone, whether it be to race to loose pucks or to find open pockets of ice. He scored a goal in this one by reading and reacting to his teammates off the rush, skating to the side of the net and finishing off a cross ice pass to give Québec Blue a 2-1 lead. He was very effective off the rush as a puck transporter as well, using his high-end speed to push back and turn around defenders. He’s able to process the game even while maneuvering at his top speed, making him all the more dangerous as a playmaker.

2023 QMJHL Cup: Team Québec U15 Blue (3) vs Team Gourde (6)
I honestly felt like I should’ve included Bibeau-Rivard in my first game report on Québec Blue, but in this game, he really left me no choice. His pace of play was extremely high for the full duration of the game. He never stopped moving his feet while he was out on the ice and seemed to be around the puck all game long. There was an astounding sequence in the first period when he backchecked hard to break up a zone entry, then hustled back to join the rush opportunity and nearly scored in the process. He showed off some great stickhandling ability throughout the game as well. He was beating defenders all night with deft puck touches and slick toe drags, making him very difficult to contain one on one. He was so quick to loose pucks in the offensive zone, allowing his line to garner sustained offensive zone time. His goal actually came off some sustained pressured when he fired a one-timer into the back of net after finding some space in the high slot.
