Gavin left the game with an injury, but I still felt he played well in his limited minutes. He had a few nice defensive sequences, keeping threats to the outside, not giving an inch, and neutralizing oncoming attackers. I thought he used his feet well to maintain gaps and smart body & stick positioning to take away attackers' time and space, shutting down some of the Rangers' rush attempts. When he regained possession, he was his typical puck-mover, connecting on passes out of the back, sparking controlled breakouts for the Titans.

This was probably one of the better games from Yin I've seen all season. There was flashes of his confidence, lateral mobility, and puck-moving that all jumped off the page throughout the game. In his own zone, I thought he always made the right play to faciliate an exit, whether hitting an outlet pass or carrying it out himself, Gavin was nearly perfect on his breakouts. Within the offensive zone, he was eager to walk the line, shed oncoming forecheckers, and get pucks through on the net. These actions spared two of the Titan's three goals, one Yin scored himself when he crept in on a loose puck and another his point shot sparked a rebound for Tang to bury.

Gavin has always stood out when I've watched this Titans team, but this was one of the better games I've seen from him. I thought he was composed defensively, mirroring oncoming attackers' every move and shutting down their attacks relatively easily. Yin was nearly perfect on his outlet passes, even under the pressure of a forechecker, he was crucial at helping the Titans exit their zone with control. All around, it was just a solid performance from Gavin doing all the little things to get pucks out of his zone and into the offensive third.
