While I've seen the Vaughan Kings U15 a handful of times now, most of my views of Gensen have been when he was playing up with the '08s at various points last season, so this event was great to see him more closely against his peers. The recurring theme in my assessment of Geldart's game was his processing and decision-making, all being nearly perfect in almost any situation. With the puck, he prioritized possession, read what the defence gave him, and reacted accordingly. Even if that meant using delays to buy space or turning back to reset when he didn't have anything forward, he effectively processed the defence's setup and made the right play. While his smart decision-making was the leading element of his game, Geldart's high-end small-area skill and ability to play effectively in motion enabled him to control possession as he had all the tools to escape any pressure. His ability to maintain complete control of the puck made him one of the leaders for GTA in transition, controlling the flow over the offensive blueline and then sparking scoring chances mainly as a passer. It was an impressive showing for the Vaughan King forward, demonstrating why he is one of the top players to watch for the 2025 OHL Draft.

Geldart was the primary play controller on the Vaughan Kings, who consistently made the right decisions to drive play. He was always in the right spots to support the puck and apply pressure to force turnovers. When he had the puck, Geldart scanned for all his options and sought ways to play with control. All of my notes spoke to a player who could smartly process the play and react accordingly, and this intelligence angle was what I was mainly impressed with. In terms of physical tools, Gensen is a fluid skater who can effectively handle the puck while maneuvering in all directions. These tools, paired with the processing to read the play, made him difficult to contain and were the foundation of why he was impactful at helping the Kings transition out of their zone and into the offensive third with control. He created plenty of scoring chances, but just thought there was a smart player here who continually made the right decision time after time, making for a very impressive performance.
