EVENT 2024 Toronto Titans Tournament
Just like back at the Draft Day Showcase, Inskip thrived for his tactical and methodical puck handling, almost always having the smart puck touch to dodge and escape pressure. All of my notes revolve around Ian playing with his head up, recognizing opponents coming his way, and then making a calculated move to put the puck out of reach of the defender and protect the puck. This ability to dodge defenders allowed Inskip to maneuver his way into the offensive zone with control on most of his transition sequences and attack the middle of the ice if he saw a gap in the defence. He had scoring chances, mainly originating from being in the right place at the right time in the net front area, namely scoring one powerplay tip goal across my viewings of the Reps.

EVENT 2024 Draft Day Showcase
Inskip caught my eye for how he managed the puck and linked plays together to move the puck up ice or into the danger areas. It wasn't anything flashy or highlight reel worthy; Ian just always seemed in control, processing the play correctly and making the right move or pass for the moment to ensure his team maintained possession. While he impacted the game in many different scenarios, I mainly noted his success within the offensive zone and in small areas. On so many occasions, Ian was able to use a smart & calculated touch to weave in and around a defender's stick, finding ways to get in behind defenders and create scoring chances. He protected the puck to the outside and along the wall, shielding pucks from defenders to the outside, threading a pass to the slot, or cutting in toward the net on plenty of his offensive zone possessions. It just seemed like no matter how a defender was trying to close him down, Ian could problem solve himself out from pressure, with a little lateral shift and clever puck touch. Of course, with this skillset, he also positively impacted transition, using these same tactical puck touches to dodge defenders and keep play flowing up ice, but it was his play in the offensive zone that really stuck out. Evidently, it was a solid first impression at the Draft Day Showcase from Ian, and I'll be curious to see how his play continues over the season.

Game Information GTHL U16 Playoffs
Inskip was the primary playmaker on the Reps in this match, always making things happen offensively by connecting on passes to the dangerous areas. Within the offensive zone, he was patient, scanning for passing lanes, and had some impressive moments of picking apart the Don Mills defence, hitting open linemates for scoring chances. As has become habitual with a viewing of Ian, he was in the right spots to contest pucks, battle for possession, and come out on the receiving end of the puck many times.

Game Information GTHL U16: Reps Hockey Club vs, Mississauga Rebels
Inskip was the man of the match, scoring two goals and adding two helpers, making him the primary catalyst in their victory. While the points were nice, speaking to both a finishing ability and a passing layer to his game, I was simply impressed with Inskip's ability to control the game. Whether it was operating smartly with the puck on his stick or winning back possession, he was always at the center of the play, making things happen for the Reps. Anytime he had the puck, Ian was able to operate with control, make tactical moves around defenders, and keep play flowing up ice and into the scoring areas. These smart decisions were what led to the majority of the results Inskip tallied on the scoresheet and what lands him as someone I am paying close attention to for inclusion in my rankings in future releases.
