EVENT 2025 CCM 68 Combine
The majority of my notes on Dingwall consisted of highlighting his willingness to engage physically in the offensive zone while also flashing good enough puck skills to generate touches in dangerous areas. He was winning a majority of his battles low in the offensive zone by winning inside positioning on defenders to retrieve pucks and set up lengthy zone sequences. He flashed a solid blend of skill and power along the perimeter in the offensive zone as well, demonstrating the ability to either pull pucks around defenders to get off the wall or dip a shoulder to force his way to the front of the net to create a chance from in tight.

EVENT General
He comes across as a very aggressive hockey player, often closing gaps defensively, rushing to corners, and trying his best to lean into physicality and engagement. He’s often pushing players in the defensive zone or at least letting them know he’s close with stick lifts and swipes. From cuts to the inside to bursts up ice, he’s a presence that certainly made itself known as a younger forward for Pilot Mound last season. He can score off the rush with a heavy wrist shot or pot goals on the backside without any hesitation too. With size and skating ability, it appears Kai is taking his game to join Calgary International Hockey Academy this year. I’m including Kai in the Manitoba section even though it appears he was born in Ontario and lists his hometown as Calgary. He suited up for Team Manitoba in a spring tournament and had 5 goals in 4 games.
