McFadden showed incredible patience and puck-moving ability throughout the six games OHA Edmonton played. He used his size and strength effectively in his own zone to win puck battles along the boards and below the goal line, and then he immediately looked to push play up ice. I really liked how he almost never blindly threw the puck away—he stayed composed, kept his feet moving, and used his large frame to protect the puck while waiting for an option to open up. If nothing was there, he had the confidence to skate it out himself, often gaining the offensive blue line with ease. He also scored a beautiful power-play goal in game five, hammering a one-timer short side from the circle. My only nitpick was that he got caught puck-watching a little too much in front of his own net, but that’s minor compared to all the positives he showed.
