Dorval is a tall and lanky defender who utilizes his reach to gain advantages all over the ice. He wasn’t afraid to traverse cross-ice to close in on puck-carriers and utilize his stick to dislodge pucks and initiate the counterattack. In the offensive zone he would often jump down from the line to cut off breakout passes or simply keep plays alive by retrieving loose pucks and engaging in the cycle. He still has room to grow on his defensive zone retrievals, as there are a few bobbles that kill breakout attempts before they can begin, but overall I think hes a very solid defensive prospect.
