He’s a composed defender and showed elements to the smoothness of his edgework to stay in between players and maintain gaps on the outside when defending the rush. He can sweep into that defensive posture and positioning nicely. He certainly understands defensive structure and what he should be doing. I saw him make a couple of really nice pinches in the zone, spun off pressure in the defensive zone and used give and go plays to drive the length of the ice, and had a decent snapshot to him. He’s someone I think could slowly develop quite well as he adds strength.
