EVENT 2024 Alliance Face-Off
I have some notes on Miniotas from past viewings of EMC in U15 action and at the Draft Day Showcase, but I noticed him way more in this viewing of the Canucks. On the surface, Owen is a strong skater, which was my assessment's central theme. I mainly noted him as the primary play-driver on his line, carrying the puck up ice, and it all revolved around his skating to gain a step on defenders in open ice. Owen showed flashes of quality handling, but his pace and quickness were the elements I felt were key to his success. He managed the puck well, typically making the right decision to advance play, and was impactful in transition for the Canucks. Owen had some offensive creation, including a back door tap-in goal that he finished, but my main takeaway was his play as a centerman linking things together.

Game Information Alliance U16 Playoffs
Miniotas had a solid game, showcasing the main traits of a play-driving centerman. He supported the play well, winning pucks all over the ice and making the right decisions when the puck was on his stick. He just constantly executed the important plays to secure zone exits, and commence offensive zone sequences for the Canucks, making him their most important player in transition. Miniotas found the back of the net, making a quick move to the middle off the rush to beat a defender to the inside lane and ripping a shot from the slot by the netminder.
