Sometimes he gets lost in my views but that doesn’t dismiss how strong he looks through crossovers and how he uses his edge-work to create better passing angles. He was sure handed and simplistic in his approach most moments; showing little backhanded saucer passes, backhanded rebound goals, and is able to elevate pucks in tight spaces. I found in these games that his efforts were consistent and efficient even if they weren’t flashy. He more often than not finds the timing and the angle to adjust to pass into the interior since he has his head up and excellent puck control. Could he be more aggressive or dominant or selfish or physical? Yes in some spots. What he brings to the table as a winger to outlets from the defensive half wall with consistency and finds his teammates with accurate passes is already quality.

I thought it was another stronger couple showings from Peter as far as using his skill intellectually. He was able to pivot well and push up ice against OHA in a few spots to give him space to adjust to defensive pressure and pick his passing angles in motion. There was one great moment where he burst past a defender to the outside and pulled back to the forehand for a brilliant chance. He seems to be keeping his composure with his handles in those moments. With Peter, I’m still looking for a bit more explosion to his skating stride and his ability to either escape with quicker cuts or build momentum faster. Any open space he can find instantly becomes dangerous but it’s just about trying to create that space more often as the puck carrier. He thinks the game so highly though and he’s someone who makes his linemates better by controlling possession.

The notes on Peter showed little positive details like calling for the puck, quality down low cycle play, and using that low snap whip to his advantage. He can sense pressure and evade along that cycle too to create enough space to pass back into the slot from quality spots. He spent some time avoiding hits and driving down the outside for me. Overall though, I wish I had more notes on Peter’s overall game.
