I thought Quinn was the player of the game in this one. He was so persistent on the forecheck, battling and winning pucks, wreaking havoc for the Reps defenders trying to connect on breakouts. Shift after shift, Ronan was active as a disrupter, always engaged and trying to fight for possessions. Once he gained possession, I really liked what I saw, playing a strong on-puck protection game to create advantages and get to the scoring areas. He worked down low well, extending possessions and finding ways to get out from the cycle and to the scoring areas, driving plenty of high-danger opportunities. He’s a bigger forward at 6'2, but he’s mobile on his feet, can handle pucks in motion well, and used both of these abilities to impact the game. A really solid performance from a player who was already well on my radar as someone to watch in this year's class.

I liked Quinn’s game for how he played down low and off the cycle. He is strong on his skates, used body positioning well to shield pucks, and was just difficult for defenders to contain. Quinn battled effectively down low, freeing up pucks on the forecheck, and when in possession could create off these small-area sequences. He showed the willingness to absorb contact, attack off the wall, and drive the scoring areas, making for a solid performance for a player that can create off established o-zone possessions. Ronan found the back of the net a handful of times, all from showing a nice finishing touch around the net to score off quick catch and releases. All in all a really impressive performance showing a ton of projectable tools.

With Quinn, I mainly came away thinking positively of his hands in small areas, in front of the net and along the boards, and how he used those tools to create offence. Ronan always seemed confident with the puck on his stick, looking to make something happen and relying on his handling to advance pucks to the dangerous areas. He scored two breakaway goals (one in the shootout), which both fall under this theme of quick handling, as on both he stunned the goaltender with a deceptive fake, then tucked it home into the empty cage.

Quinn, another tall and rangy player, stood out with his relentless work ethic and consistent puck involvement. He excelled along the boards, protecting the puck and working the cycle effectively, showing great chemistry with his linemates as they often dominated possession in the offensive zone. What I noticed from Quinn that not a lot of players can do effectively is make area passes in attacking spots. On a pair of his assists, he floated two foot high saucer passes from near the dots to a driving forward heading to the back post, landing perfectly for them to skate into and put into the net.

Ronan Quinn found himself on the score sheet a handful of times during this event, consistently finding that soft ice in coverage, he was one of the leading catalysts at finishing off plays and putting the puck in the back of the net. His ability to get to the crease, play with his stick on the ice, endure physical contact as he battled for positioning, and seemingly always being first on pucks let him tap home plenty of scoring chances. Not necessarily the most glamorous of goals, but they all count the same, whilst developing some good scoring habits in the process. His playmaking ability at speed and off the rush helped contribute to his goal scoring, setting up some give-and-go plays by shooting off a quick pass and darting to the crease with speed, he made great reads off-puck and took intelligent routes to the net, along with beat out opponents as a result of pure speed. Generating some chances with good usage of his strong frame as well, capable of going shoulder-to-shoulder, bouncing off checks, and penetrating the middle of the ice, he showed some good physical resiliency and ability to get his shot off in tight quarters as well.
