Hanrahan was constantly attacking down the wing in this game, relying on some explosive steps and using his frame to protect pucks to the outside. I thought he just used his physical tools well, shielding pucks from defenders with smart body positioning and fluid/strong skating to win lanes to the net from the outside. Ryan scored twice in this game, one off one of these very rush sequences, scoring shorthanded firing it far side, and the second he potted a rebound off the end boards.

Hanrahan impressed me with how he used his physical tools to drive positive results. Ryan combined tactical handling, explosive skating, and an understanding of how to use his frame to shield the puck to attack the net time and time again. There were so many sequences of him exploding down the wing, using his reach and body positioning to keep the puck secure from a defender, and then driving toward the goal from the outside once he's established an advantage. Ryan was always trying to drive toward the net, relying on all of these physical tools to create scoring chances for himself and making for a solid first impression that made me think there's a player here to keep an eye on moving forward.
