Chartier was tasked with more of a depth role for the eventual champions, although he still found a way to impact the scoresheet with 4 points in 6 games. He’s a really strong player who was able to prolong offensive zone sequence off the cycle by dealing with contact along the perimeter and below the goal line, demonstrating good puck protection techniques while keeping his head up to assess his options and distribute accordingly. His physical play helped create turnovers in the offensive zone as well by deliver huge body checks to opposing defenders to remove them of the puck and create loose pucks as a consequence. The primary weapon in his offensive arsenal is his shot, which he can get off quickly with velocity and accuracy. He’s not necessarily prone to creating space for himself as a shooter, but as a one touch shooting option in space he really thrives. He’s not the most creative of players, but through his compete level and physical tools there is a pathway for Chartier as a bottom-six forward at the next level.
