Tatum would be another player I’m really going to be watching closely in the future since he has a heavy snapshot and a big windup slapshot too. The element of controlled power, crisp stretch passing, and the ability to drive plays deeper into the offensive zone while protecting with his head up. He can lean into the physical contact with a calm poise too. Probably the standout moments for me came when he shifted with power to evade a closing forward at the offensive blueline. Since he can bait them one way and explode the other, he can slip into deeper shooting lanes. He uses those same tactics when avoiding pressure on retrievals. After judging the angle of forecheck, Tatum slips around you with a touch pass to himself or a little drag move.
