While a lot of the chances in these games came off the rush, William is one of the best players to change pacing and use delay tactics to wait for trailers, reassess scoring tactics, or simply put pucks back to his defensemen and start a cycle. Tactically, he has an edge on some of his province mates because he isn’t afraid of creating against physical pressure. He can spin off checks, counter stick checks, and leaves great space to execute his decisions with the puck. Little moments to lower the shoulder and drive the net after gaining position or cutting back with control are going to make him more successful on the cycle and on the PP. I’ve been a fan of his for a while now and was kicking myself that I didn’t have him inside the top-80. I think he will most likely get another boost after this event due to his smart and controlled play.
