Boivin finished the tournament with 2 goals in 4 games and was one of the more effective rookie players for the Estacades throughout. He has a bit of an awkward skating posture that limits his speed, but he does a good job of overcoming this through sheer effort and through constantly driving his feet. He’s an intelligent off-puck player with impressive shooting mechanics who’s able to get himself into open space and utilize his quick hands to get shots off quickly. He had moments where he was able to hide his release through his stickhandling, snapping a puck off his blade mid handle to catch the goaltenders off guard. He had some impressive sequences on the backcheck as well, catching up to puck-carriers and stripping them of the puck before making a quick play up the ice to initiate the counterattack.

A skilled and speedy forward who buzzes around the ice looking to cause turnovers and generate puck touches through that avenue. I liked how Boivin was always looking to get into the thick of things in the offensive zone, immersing himself in the front of the net and looking to pick up rebounds and glide up in the slot to act as a passing option. He had some strong flashes of puck control in tight quarters as well, where he was able to maneuver around defenders with quick dekes in the offensive zone and get pucks to teammates in dangerous areas.
