EVENT Bauer Bantam Elite U15 Tournament
Bradbeer is a nice puck moving presence and was at his best on the powerplay in this tournament. He is confident and creative at the offensive blueline, using his agility and puck control to open passing lanes, showing remarkable patience and poise as a distributor. He uses that same purposeful movement as an escape vehicle as well, using subtle shifts and lateral steps to manipulate spacing and sidestep incoming pressure. Bradbeer collected eight assists in six games and was a major reason the team’s powerplay was so successful, but I do want to see him continue to work on his shot as it currently lacks some pop. As teams adapt and the level of competition gets higher, he will need to become more of a scoring threat to keep defences honest. Defensively, Bradbeer compensates for his size by engaging early and using quick stick work to disrupt entries. His anticipation gives opponents fits as he consistently turns back attempted zone exits leading to some long shifts hemmed in the zone. With his size there will always be projection concerns with his defence, but he actively leans on his strengths to avoid scenarios where his lack of size would be exposed.
