EVENT 2026 OHL Draft Final Evaluation
Projection: Middle Six Forward
Strengths: Compete, Physicality, Finishing
Development Opportunities: Consistency, Foot Speed
There’s a lot to like in Bellchamber’s game. At the forefront is the energy and physicality. Landon brings a strong forechecking element that can make life difficult for opposing defenders. Layered on top of that is a well-rounded offensive game, using those same physical tools to protect pucks, extend plays, and drive the net. He is sturdy on his feet, can play through contact, handle pucks well in traffic, and create plenty of scoring chances through his physical attributes. Those two elements blend together to project him as someone who can fill a depth forechecking role, but with no shortage of offensive tools to play up in a lineup if it all comes together.
A big key for him moving forward is getting more explosive. He isn’t a step behind at the U16 level, but gaining a few steps in his pacing will help him create separation and be a pest on the forecheck at the next level. The physicality and energy are certainly a plus to his game, but they can fizzle in and out, and bringing that same effort on a game-in, game-out basis will be what helps him carve out a full-time role at the OHL level.

Game Information 2025 Toronto Marlboros Holiday Classic vs. Toronto Red Wings
Landon Bellchamber was a lethal scoring option throughout the game, scanning the ice and reading plays, getting himself into open areas for scoring opportunities. This was shown at many points, like when he slid into the high slot and wound up for a one-timer opportunity. As well he factored into the score by hopping on a loose puck and made a nice pass out front for his teammate to get one. It was a solid effort from Bellchamber who showed strong scoring tendencies.

Game Information 2025 Whitby Silver Stick vs. Peterborough
Bellchamber’s offensive eagerness and physical presence were what jumped off the page. He often entered the zone, and was immediately looking to attack, showing a willingness to try to get to the scoring areas for quality looks. Landon had some flashes of handling, beating defenders 1-on-1, but his involvement on rush sequences to be the primary shooting threat was the major component of his offence. Throughout the game, Bellchamber’s physical approach stood out, always looking to engage and apply physicality, sometimes teetering over the edge with a few crosschecks, but nonetheless he didn’t shy away from the physical components of the game.

In a game where Evan Bannister wasn’t in the lineup, I thought Landon really took advantage of the opportunity to take over more. I thought he played a strong puck protection game, using his frame well to control pucks along the boards and impact the play off the cycle. He always shielded pucks from defenders, spin off checks, and dominated the game down low in the offensive zone. Landon was able to convert these cycle sequences into scoring chances, getting his head up and spotting open teammates in the slot, tallying an assist under this exact type of sequence. It was a really strong performance from a player who used his physical tools well to drive offence. Given this performance, he’s certainly a player I want to keep a close eye on for future viewings of the Capitals.

Playing a practical, and straight-forward game, Landon Bellchamber used his size and reach to make the most of his opportunities, boxing out opponents, and whipping a handful of firm shots on net. He was able to open up his stride when skating through the neutral zone with the puck and with some quick movements to the outside he could step around checkers and with the speed he had built, he created a bit of separation and opened some ice to zip a puck on the net. He had a fairly heavy wrister, and the ability to get it off in stride was a bonus. He followed up play well as he trailed on rush chances, slipping into empty ice and being rewarded with good looks. Once more flashing his scoring touch via a quick release upon receiving a pass in a dangerous spot on the ice. He had also found success battling for rebounds, the long reach and limbs helped him get on pucks first and win body positioning in scrums.
