2023 UNDER-17 WORLD HOCKEY CHALLENGE: USA VS FINLAND
Regardless of the situation or moment in the game, Richard Gallant was able to make his presence known through strong 200-foot play highlighted by elite skill and ability when opportunity arose. He had a handful of shorthanded scoring chances thanks to some great tenacity, stick checking, and speed. He was able to consistently pull away from nearby checkers and create odd man rushes while down a man. His speed was of use at 5-on-5 as well, gaining the zone with speed he threaded a puck around a defender to William Moore in the slot leading to a rebound chance that Jacob Kvasnicka cashed in on. In defensive transitions he was always in position, supporting his defenders well, getting in lanes, and applying constant pressure to the Team Finland puck carriers.

2023 WORLD UNDER-17 HOCKEY CHALLENGE – CANADA RED V CZECHIA
Richard Gallant was noticeable throughout the game on many different occasions for different reasons. He was ruthless on the forecheck, part of a very systematic and effortful Team USA schema, he used his speed and disciplined stick to win battles, gain leverage, force turnovers below the offensive goal line and distribute pucks around the ice. He picked up a goal and an assist in the victory, one of which he went hard to the net and poked home a loose puck, showing once more great drive and tenacity, not stopping until the play was finished. His prettier play of the game resulting in a goal was as he slipped through some Team Czechia defenders on the rush with slick puck handling, balance, and speed, ultimately being hauled down via a stick infraction, and as he was on the ice pushed a puck to Jacob Kvasnicka at the side of the net for the 8-1 Team USA goal. Team USA was relentless throughout the game in regards to their checking ability, and Gallant played a large role in that being one of the more defensively responsible and 200-foot engaged forwards on the team.

2022 USA HOCKEY SELECT 15 PDC: COLUMBIA BLUE VS WHITE
The valiant offensive zone battle shown by Richard Gallant served to help his team rekindle some momentum after going down 3-0 early in this game. Despite battling against two or more Team White defenders with a size advantage over him, Gallant was able to hack and battle out of the scrum with possession. It didn’t take long for Gallant to expand on his scope of abilities either, carrying the puck through the middle of the ice and maneuvering around several Team White defenders with slippery, yet controlled skill. Throughout the game this began to develop as a theme for Gallant who had the confidence and skill to make very shifty dekes to force himself to the middle of the ice. He was capable of highly technical maneuvers that integrated his heavy upper body strength as well as ability to handle the puck securely with one hand.
