EVENT Sask First Male U15 Top-160
It seems like Aiden is gaining confidence through transition play at NAX since the best parts of his play during the event was smart puck movement around the fringes of the offensive zone and his end to end rush attempts due to the length of his strides and his finishing ability. There was one moment where he was allowed to walk right in on the PP and sniped a wrist shot up high. His shot extension and whip on his release stand out as translatable qualities at the next levels. Throw in a few shoulder to shoulder hits and overall engaged physical play and he was a catalyst for offense for Team Black.

EVENT N/A
I’m keeping my eyes on Wagner as a potential riser up my lists in the same way that Carson Carels did last season. Lots of the same indicators for success exist in both players such as the length of his skating stride and legs, the length and whip of his stick in order to drag laterally or protect wide, and his softer hands on the PP to make little slip passes into the interior for quick shot releases. He’s becoming more and more confident to activate off the rush and engage as the puck carrier or a trailer option. His shot release shows terrific extension and whip which can catch goaltenders off guard coming off the half wall. I love how he rarely panics while walking the blueline too; reassessing options as the play unfolds. He stick lifts, shoulder checks, and does a lot of the little awareness indicators too. There are some moments where he finds himself off balance when moving into shot options or finding himself at a standstill defensively and being caught off guard but those are things that can be worked on and cleaned up. Overall, his ability to transition pucks and be a legitimate PP option give him great draft value. He certainly isn’t done growing yet either.
