Another new face on this HoneyBaked roster, Grady Schaefer was able to make an immediate impact for his new team at the MAHA showcase, leading the way for his team with 7 points in 3 games at the event. There’s was a lot of fluidity to his game, starting from his silky puck handling skills that allowed him to effectively weave his way through crowded areas of the ice along with his smooth skating stride that allowed him to swiftly make his way through the offensive zone with and without the puck on his stick. His strategic positioning around the puck was one of the leading factors in his strong performance as he often was the first player to jump onto loose pucks or cut off an opponents pass before quickly turning them into counter-attacking opportunities. Not only was he able to position himself to garner these dangerous looks but he also was able to showcase a nice finishing ability from around the net whether it was a quick catch and release or a one-on-one situation with the goaltender.
