Max Delisle has been one of the most consistent performers game-in and game-out. Every viewing of Delisle, you more or less know what you're going to get, with him playing his detail-oriented game, always in the right spot supporting the play, winning battles, and doing all those little things right. I've found he's been the key to his line's success this year, doing so much of the heavy lifting to get play into the offensive zone for his two talented wingers to thrive and really makes things tick as a play driver. He's not the flashiest player in the class, but there's a really projectable player here to build around, as finding a dependable 200-foot centerman with his offensive tools can be challenging to find. Like many of these top players, I'd expect Max to develop into a top-six centerman who, of course, drives offence but brings more of that two-way responsibility and physicality aspect.

Delisle was the backbone of the Titan's top line, constantly relying on his powerful skating and physical tools to drive play. He was nearly unstoppable in transition as he could explode by defenders with a few strides and transition the puck so cleanly. After powering through the neutral zone, Max was so effective at taking the puck down the exterior, protecting pucks from defenders, and winning lanes to the net, all under this theme of using his skating and size to his advantage. His physical tools made him nearly impossible for defenders to contain, and as such, Delisle was just always the one dictating the play. Within the offensive zone, there was an impressive passing layer to his game, but the physical abilities and how he used them down the middle of the ice to spark chances were certainly my main takeaways. Delisle started the year in the back half of my top ten, but based on his performance over the Titans Tournament, I could have been easily convinced to start him within my top 5, so there certainly is potential for him to climb over subsequent months.

It was a "quiet" but an effective game from Delisle. He was always on the right side of the puck, supporting the play, and able to battle for possession, coming out on the winning side more often than not. Especially in his defensive third, he was constantly helping out his defence and helping keep play on the outside of the zone. He had a handful of scoring chances, hovering around the offensive zone to be open for passes from Freeman, and quickly catching and releasing pucks on target.

Delisle was making everything happen for the Titans in this game. He was controlling play up and down the ice, driving play through the middle of the ice, and being that puck-transporting centerman for his line. I thought he displayed a solid passing game throughout this one, constantly moving pucks to where they needed to go all over the offensive zone and sparking chances for his linemates. Delisle created the Titans' first goal when he won a puck along the wall with a check, and then swiftly moved the puck to the point that eventually led to the Tang rebound goal.

I thought this was Delisle's best game thus far at the Oakville Rangers Classic. As always, he was the primary play-through man on his line, carrying pucks up ice and ensuring transitions were completed with control. He did an excellent job supporting the play in his defensive zone, winning pucks and then finding ways to play out of his end. Within the offensive zone, he displayed a nice playmaking layer, consistently scanning for passing lanes and dishing off to one of his two talented linemates. Delisle recorded an assist in this game, spotting an open Tang in the slot and hitting him with a pass that he fired home.
