Cade was really the only bright spot on this Canes team in this one and was exceptional. It stood out early on to me that he was a very responsible 200ft centreman that could support his defenseman on retrievals, and subsequently get the puck going north in an efficient manner. If he wasn’t in control of the puck, he facilitated exits brilliantly by freeing himself in open ice which a path to exit and pick up speed. His positioning and understanding of the game were sharp as well, he never let wingers get above him, and rarely got stuck deep in his own zone. In terms of puck skills, the distribution was great to watch today. He used a variety of pass types, all to high degrees of success. Cade tallied a goal and an assist in this one, factoring in on both goals.
