Projectable Skills - Shot Power Release, Physicality, Raw Potential Development Opportunities - Skating agility, Improve Team-style play
Here is another player who has ample room left to grow his game. Immediately, what you get in Cayden is an elite shot release from both an accuracy standpoint and shot power. If he finds himself with a stride or two, or gliding into dangerous territory, Cayden can absolutely let the puck fly. His potential as a quick-strike one-timer option especially on the right side is very interesting. I’d imagine he would be projected as the trigger man on the PP in the future for whatever team takes him. You’ll often find Cayden in the mix of the play; whether that means he’s using his physicality down low to finish checks and maintain positioning, or just digging into the feet for pucks and trying to be purposefully aggressive towards the net. He will need a coaching staff who is patient enough with him to go over situations and advanced tactics as he moves along. Allowing him to explore options while using his power and finesse in tandem. Cayden could be a premier power forward at the WHL level one day if everything breaks right. A fan favorite indeed.

2022 World Under-17 Challenge: Canada White vs Finland
This was my first time watching Cayden Lindstrom in action and I would say I was a fan of his play. While he faded in and out on the ice for me, I thought he brought a lot to this game playing with speed and showing real attacking intent. After drawing a penalty in front of the bench he quickly stood up and dangled his way past the two Fins bearing down on him and accelerated into the open space towards the offensive zone where they were able to set up a man advantage before the powerplay even kicked off. He was one of the distributors on the powerplay and had the primary assist on the final goal with a nice slap shot from the point. He showed good speed and was quick to recover and break up transition plays heading the other way and used his long strides to catch up to the opposition and insert himself in the play.

2022 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge: Canada White vs Czechia
The appreciation I have for good off-puck play is hard to exaggerate and Cayden Lindstrom just seems to get it on the PP. It’s what makes him the ideal candidate for the set play that Canada White ran on the PP. Right off the faceoff, Lindstrom covers the right point to stretch the Czech PK over and bides his time before Mews passes down to the goal line. After that, Lindstrom times his dash as soon as the Czech defender finished shoulder checking his position in order to secure a free lane to the slot without defensive interference. From there, it’s all about scoring on the wide open net.
