A big, strong, right shot defenseman who is steady on both offense and defense, Tretheway makes smart plays all over the ice. He is patient with the puck but can also move it quickly up ice to his forwards. Tretheway effectively uses his strength to force turnovers from opposing forwards. He made a strong play to steal a puck late in the third period but was unable to clear the puck, leading to the CHL’s game winning goal. Overall, he had a good showing and proved to be a solid two-way defenseman.
