Regional Scout - USA
Queally had great straight-line speed that when combined with his puck skills and quick lateral footwork made him an effective forward in transition. I thought he was efficient at creating space for himself as a puck carrier off the rush where he was able to execute inside-out moves or side-steps around defenders with pace or make strong, quick lateral cuts across the ice using his strong edgework to find that open space and get the separation to make plays with the puck. Away from the puck, he used his speed to join counter-attacking opportunities up the ice, bursting down lanes and turning defensemen on his way to the net where he showed his effectiveness on catch-and-shoot plays with a quick release of the puck in stride. Queally was a player who I thought started off strong but continued to get better and better as the combine went along.

Regional Scout - USA
Another strong scoring piece for the USA 4 squad, Jack Queally came away with 1 goal in this one along with a handful of other strong looks. He scored the 5-0 goal via powering down the right wing, dropping that shoulder, pulling away on a partial break, and in stride snapped a shot passed the goalie. To this point in the game, he had several great looks where he quickly got the puck off his stick while in motion, this just being the latest example of the quick release he possesses. The duality to his game wherein he showed he was both capable of carrying the puck himself into scoring areas, along with slip into them off-puck and quickly catch-and-release a shot made him work fluidly with others to come by strong scoring chances.

Austin Robson
Regional Scout - Eastern Canada
Queally’s high-end skill and finishing ability made him an effective part of his team’s offense throughout this contest. He showed immense confidence as a puck-carrier at times, opting to take on multiple defenders at a time off the rush, cutting laterally and executing a toe drag through the both of them to break in alone. He demonstrated some strong playmaking chops in transition as well, driving back defenders with his speed to create room up high before making a drop pass to a teammate who could operate in space. He scored his teams fifth goal by catching a pass in stride in the neutral zone and wiring a perfect shot in motion over the goaltender’s blocker.
