His stature isn’t big but he’s poised, goes to the soft areas of the ice and makes the most of his opportunities whether he’s driving play or entrusted to make a quick play off a pass. Riehl is a shifty forward who is able to find soft pockets of ice in the offensive zone to exploit. He was attacking defenders with speed forcing numerous turnovers and creating scoring chances. He scans the ice in the neutral zone and is able to find effective passing lanes and hit his teammates on the tape in stride. He made quick plays off the wall curling to the middle to find an open shooting lane where he could show off his accurate release.
