It was a trademark Jack O’Brien performance in both games with smart pass vision in multiple zones and situations, finding creative ways through and around pressure from opponents. What he lacks in speed and evasion he makes up for in resilience, creativity and quick execution, and while he was muted relative to many teammates, he popped up in my notes more often than I initially thought. He was causing turnovers in the offensive zone, deploying creative entry passes, and getting to the net for scoring chances and seam pass attempts. He just seemed to chip in well while on the ice, facilitating play for linemates effectively through pass vision and using his size to his advantage.
