The longer I’ve watched Owen, the more I loved the details and well-rounded approach he has to the game. He is a good quality skater and was using his crossovers to both build speed and change the angle of attack on defenders very well. His crossover to stride ratio was terrific. There were moments where he was clearly cognizant of adjusting his posture and his shot angles off the rush or choosing good spots to cut back hard to his forehand both with and without the puck. He seems smart, effective, well-rounded, and has good power to his edges already. I like it. He finished second in team scoring and a near PPG last year.

Folstrom shows flashes of electric play in most games, but I thought this was one where he really put everything together to be a consistent threat throughout. He is especially dangerous off the rush where he is constantly accelerating and driving defenders back on their heels. I also really like his defensive work on the wing where he feels the pinching defender well, is proactive with sliding down the wall to provide support, and is comfortable pulling the puck off the wall to hit the middle lane option with a quick and accurate pass. Curiously, while his defensive board work is very good, I think he loses some efficacy offensively on the cycle. He has no issues with winning battles but he at times struggles to problem solve and find lanes or teammates towards the net-front.
