Cunningham's puck skills were on full display over the OMHA Championships. It didn't matter where he was on the ice or how close defenders were to closing him down; he showcased his ability to dangle and problem-solve his way out of any situation. Everything in his game revolved around this ability to evade and dodge defenders so easily, extend offensive zone possessions, and create chances after gaining separation from an opponent. Across my many viewings, he had a handful of goals, finishing backdoor on the power play, scoring off a 2-on-1 pass, and one impressive tally after burning a defender wide and picking the corner short side high above the goalie. The skills and finishing touch he showed were fantastic and as such, Ryland was a crucial piece in the Petes' run to the finals.
