Heading a bit more to the offensive side of the puck, Ty Moad was impactful in his own manner by being able to contribute to their attack. He manned the point well and was able to direct the puck towards goal and generate rebound opportunities for his teammates swarming the front of the net. His distribution was swift and accurate, keeping the pressure on the opposition and helping to wear them down. He had some nice standout moments in his own zone as well, his composure on the puck and ability to safely eliminate threats by getting the puck out of the zone with no hesitation. He defended tightly to the front of the net where he was able to stand players up and prevent dangerous secondary opportunities from ending up in the net. He was a leader out of the back who directed traffic well, he read plays well and worked well to call out to his teammates on what needed to be taken care of in the zone.

The composure that Moad displayed throughout the combine led to his strong puck movement from the back end. I thought he was able to see the ice well with good decision making and efficient passing to advance the play on breakouts but he also flashed his quick footwork at times, spinning off pressure in his own end to give himself more time and space while scanning for passing options. In the offensive zone, he continued to make smart reads with the puck, never showing signs of panic along the blue line but instead was able to spot open seams or calmly move the puck over to an open teammate to keep offensive zone possessions alive. His skillset allowed plays to easily transition up the ice, turning defensive stops into quick counter-attacking opportunities.

Moad was able to move the puck very well in this game with the use of a strong first pass onto the tape of forwards exiting the zone as well as his fast footwork that allowed him to quickly spin off pressure in his own end before assessing his options up the ice, often making the right play with the puck. He showed some good patience on the goal that tied the game up at 5-5 after he activated down low in the offensive zone and received a pass at the bottom of the right circle where he calmly waited for the defender to open up before he fed the puck through his opponent to an open teammate in front. In a game that exchanged quite a few chances off the rush, his puck moving skills were a big plus for his team, helping set up chances going the other way.
