Roussy is a player who I hadn’t gotten to see a whole lot of prior to this event, but whose play I thought warranted a place on this list. I would describe him generically as a smart puck-moving defenseman, who consistently demonstrated the ability to make outlet passes while under pressure in the defensive zone. Aside from his ability to get the puck out of his own zone, I liked the instincts he showed offensively by shrewdly picking his spots to join the rush from the backend. In the offensive zone he made smart pinches to keep plays alive below the hashmarks and wasn’t afraid to throw his body around to eliminate puck carriers along the half wall.
