Bilecki did what Bilecki always does and generated plenty of offence for the Rebels. With Alex, you're never getting a player who remains stationary at the point, but he's constantly looking to involve himself in the offensive possession, which was he did so well over the OHL Cup. He was so eager to rotate around the offensive zone, find open space, sneak in backdoor, and always be in motion to be a passing option. Through these sequences, Bilecki received plenty of dangerous passes and be in the the right spot for rebounds, notching a few goals over the week. His activations were a constant theme all over the ice, as Bilecki was always looking for an opportunity to rush the puck or get level with the attack and jump up in transition sequences. He was the focal point of so many of the Rebels' breakouts and transition sequences, using his mobility and confidence to dictate play from the back end. His offensive involvement has been at the core of his game all season long, and seeing it blossom over the OHL Cup was just another reminder of what he brings to the table, making a case to bump him up a few spots on my final list.

Bilecki was constantly involved in this game, being so impactful in the Rebels transition game. Alexander never hesitated to rush the puck or push up ice to get himself in on the action. All game long, he showed his confidence in navigating around forecheckers with clever moves and finding ways to play with control. He was patient with the puck, never panicked under pressure, and almost always found a pass up ice to spring a breakout or a counterattack. While there were some turnovers, the majority of the time, Alex positively impacted when he was on the ice and was the critical puck mover on the Rebels' defence group.

Once again, I've come away impressed with Bilecki's play in the offensive zone. He always wanted to rotate around within the offensive zone and spark offensive chances. If there was a loose puck along the wall, Alexander never hesitated and pounced on the puck. Bilecki was his usual self, evading oncoming forecheckers at the point with slick puck moves and lateral skating, always finding a way to create an open passing lane.

Bilecki was once again fantastic at spotting open passing lanes from the point or wall to teammates in the slot. Within the offensive zone, he was exceptional at threading pucks to open teammates in the dangerous parts of the ice and set up so many scoring chances as a result. He was so patient to walk the line or push down the wall, all to avoid forecheckers and wait until a passing lane could open up. These sequences are always so impressive, as Alex can consistently create dangerous scoring chances. Bilecki had one especially noteworthy sequence, taking the puck end to end, dangling his way by a defender and then deking the goalie before tucking it home.

2023 Whitby Silver Stick
Bilecki continued his strong play over the Silver Stick, earning him a spot in my top 40 OHL Draft rankings. With Alex, the element that always stands out is his passing, especially within the offensive zone. He is among the very best at cradling the puck at the point, scanning for passing options, and then hitting a teammate in a shooting lane. He's always eager to skirt a forechecker coming his way, using a slick lateral move to dodge, and then walk the line or down the wall to advance play closer to the net. For the most part, Bilecki did a good job suppressing transitions and winning back possession of the puck. There were moments of defensive inconsistencies, lunging at players and getting burned, but over the whole weekend, the sample was positive. As time passes, I am getting more confident in the talent available at the defence position and more certain that Bilecki is well above the vast majority of defenders in the province.

Nov 10: Mississauga Senators vs Mississauga Rebels
Bilecki was one of the standouts on the Rebels over my viewings at the Titans Tournament, so it was nice to see him perform well. Alexander was exceptional within the offensive zone. Anytime he touched the puck, he was eager to side-step oncoming pressure, create space, and create dangerous changes. So often, he'd head fake and beat a defender to the outside, drive down the wall, and then move the puck to a teammate in the centre of the ice. He set up a goal through one of these very sequences, attacking down the wall and hitting an open teammate in the slot. In another sequence in the offensive zone, Alex quickly caught a pass and moved it in a split second to a wide-open McGuckin net front who beat the netminder. Finally, I noted him as a very effective passer, moving the puck up ice, out of his zone, and helping his team transition the puck.

Prodigy Elite League - Week 1
Bilecki was another defender on Team Beige who stood out above the rest. I noticed Bilecki often in the offensive zone, as he was highly active, rotating into space and trying to sneak in back door. One of these instances should have resulted in a goal as Alexander cut backdoor, received a seam pass, and then swiftly spotted a teammate open backdoor who just couldn't find the handle. I always adore when defenders aren't stationary at the offensive blue line and look to involve themselves in the offence, which is exactly what Bilecki was doing. Outside of this aspect, I noted that Alexander had stellar lateral agility and escapability, resulting in plenty of controlled retrievals and transitions.
