As expected, Chitaroni was the main standout on this Barrie Colts squad, mainly for his impact in transition. Whether it was winning pucks to break out of his zone or exploding up ice and carrying pucks through the neutral zone, Brock was stellar in all aspects of transition. He was the heart and soul up and down the middle of the ice, controlling play shift after shift and helping the Colts get pucks into the offensive zone. After crossing the blue line, I thought Brock did a better job at scanning for passing lanes, threading pucks to teammates in scoring chances, and just overall creating more offence. He was more eager to drive the middle, try to attack the net for scoring chances, and had a few nice sequences of beating defenders for quality chances. The two-way play has been evident since the start of the season, but seeing him drive more offence has been something I've been hoping to see, and it was great to see a bit more of that aspect over the Silver Stick.

EVENT
2024 Toronto Titans Tournament
After watching Chitaroni plenty last year with the talented '08 Barrie Colts, Brock entered the year as someone I was very familiar with and figured he'd be one of the top talents in the province. He's a really explosive and powerful skater, which he relied on to carry the puck up the ice, through the neutral zone, and dictate the play in transition almost every shift. In conjunction with the skating, Brock's puck handling was tactical and methodical, always able to maneuver the puck anywhere needed to dodge a stick, put the puck out of reach from a defender, and protect the puck. The skating and handling combination enabled Brock to dominate with the puck on his stick and be the primary flow-through man for the Colts, setting up so much of their attack. While there were flashes of him putting all these tools together to beat defenders and attack gaps for scoring chances, I was mainly impressed with his play as a distributor. Upon crossing the offensive blueline, his head was always up, scanning for openings, and he was so effective at creating passing lanes and moving pucks to teammates in the dangerous parts of the ice. On such a strong team last year, where Brock played more of a secondary / support role at times, it was really nice to see him be the primary option and take over the play whenever he was on the ice throughout the Titans Tournament, solidifying him in that top tier of talent in the province.

2023 Marlboros Holiday Classic
The Malrboros Holiday Classic was another strong showing for the '09-born Chitaroni. Once again, I came away impressed with how key of a role he played on the Colts, often taking over for extended periods. The majority of his success came from his willingness to leverage his puck skills to solve problems and attack the middle of the ice. Brock constantly navigated around defenders all through his puck skills, driving to the dangerous parts of the ice for plenty of scoring chances. As I've spoken to in other evaluations of Brock, his confidence and ambition on the ice have only grown as the season continues, which has been incredible to witness.

2023 Whitby Silver Stick
The Whitby Silver Stick was when I started seeing Chitaroni playing much more confidently with the 2008s and making more of an impact. Chitaroni is becoming more puck-dominant, eager to flash his high-end puck skills to create separation and a handful of highlight-reel-worthy sequences. Like Amidovski, Brock just couldn't be cornered, as he always had the tools to dangle his way out of pressure, even in the tightest quarters. He constantly evaded the first layer of defence, penetrated the middle of the ice for a scoring chance or dished it off to an open teammate. It's a tough comparison, but I'm starting to feel much more impressed with Brock's play this season relative to the top 2008s, who were playing up with the 2007s last year.

Nov 18 Quinte Red Devils vs. Barrie Colts
Chitaroni is a 2009-born forward playing up a level, just like Logan Hawery did last season with the '07 Barrie Colts squad. Brock is a shifty and agile skater, making him very deceptive when he has the puck. On a handful of occasions, Brock entered the zone with control, used a delay or misdirection to open up space, and then connected on passes to teammates in the middle of the ice. On two of these sequences, he maneuvered down the wing, was a patient, and hit an open Nathan Amidovski, who finished on both opportunities.

2023 Port Huron Silver Stick
A constant threat for the Greyhounds throughout, Brock Chitaroni was buzzing all over the ice as a strong offensive presence. He caused the defense problems with his persistence and ability to drive at them, and he earned an assist on the second goal with a powerful wrist shot that forced the goalie to make a save and they cashed in on the rebound. He carries the puck very fluidly and is able to effectively enter the zone and force the defense on their heels. The game was played a lot in the neutral zone, but Chitaroni was a player that was able to frequently get on the puck and you wondered if he just might unlock the defense when he did.

OMHA Crossover vs. Niagara North Stars
Chitaroni has just been improving with every viewing of the Colts. He's really starting to look more and more comfortable, taking over more every time I tune in to one of their games. He's showing to impact transition more, navigate his way through the neutral zone with high-end skill moves, and simply just impact the game more regularly. Brock showed flashes of speed and puck skills, which he combined to have a few impressive transition sequences and create chances off the rush. Chitaroni recorded one goal, finishing a two-on-one sequence off a Nathan Amidovski pass.

2024 OMHA Crossover
Chitaroni was once again the heart and soul of this Barrie team. Shift after shift, he was exploding up and down the ice, transitioning pucks cleanly time and time again. His ability to handle the puck in motion, maneuver in any direction was so impressive and it enabled him to dodge any defender in his path. Chitaroni had many notable sequences, relying on all these fluid mechanics to beat defenders upon zone entry and generate some quality chances, mainly by beating them to the exterior. I thought he could have attacked toward the middle a little more frequently, but it was still a solid showing from the top prospect.
