EVENT 2024 Whitby Silver Stick
It wasn't the best showing for the Panthers, but I still thought Edgar played well enough to be worth mentioning. The key, as usual, was his handling and desire to attack the middle of the ice. He had some impressive sequences, dragging pucks around sticks, dangling defenders, and winning lanes toward the dangerous parts of the ice that really showcased what his game is all about. Even if it didn't work on every attempt, I adored the confidence to challenge defenders and use his hands to try to spark offensive chances. Eamon scored two in the two SCP games I watched, one catching and releasing on a 2-on-1, the second attacking off the wall toward the middle and firing one home.

EVENT 2024 Draft Day Showcase
Like with Lappalainen, there are so many different elements I could talk about how Edgar performed over the Draft Day Showcase. He had many quality scoring chances and passes, racking up many goals and assists in almost every game. While I could talk about all these sequences individually, the process behind how those points were generated was what I thought was so impressive in his game. His success primarily stemmed from his decision-making, as every time Eamon had the puck, he always made the right read to maintain control or advance play up ice and into the dangerous areas. No matter what situation Edgar was in or what pressure he was under, he could always process what was in front of him and choose the correct play. Whether it was a short, quick pass to a teammate, a slick puck move to dodge a check, or even turning back to reset if he had no options forward, Edgar dominated as a puck manager. His constant ability to read the play and then make the proper decision was the central theme to all of his success over the weekend, as every time he was involved in a sequence, there was an incredibly high likelihood that Alliance West was entering the offensive zone with control and finding ways to get pucks into the interior of the defence. These cerebral and tactical players always end the year highly regarded on my draft lists, so I'm really optimistic about Eamon entering the year and looking forward to watching him closely.

EVENT 2024 OHF U15 Championships
Behind Wycisk, Edgar was the player on the Panthers who impressed me the most, being dominant in every game. Eamon was the primary engine behind so much of the Panthers' offence, mainly as a top-notch puck manager. He was so effective at controlling play, making the right decision to maintain possession and find ways to advance plays up ice and into the dangerous parts of the ice. This tactical puck management game was mainly apparent in the offensive zone, where Edgar was so impactful at controlling play along the wall, evading pressure, and then hitting open teammates in the slot area. Eamon more than proved that he can spot complex passing lanes, pick apart defences, and connect on passes to the slot constantly. There were flashes of him combining pace and high-end puck skills to attack the middle of the ice for his scoring chances, but the scoring chance creation as a passer was how he accrued most of his value. In my first views of getting to know the Sun County Panthers, I flagged Edgar as a player to watch for, but he undoubtedly exceeded my expectations at the OHFs, earning him a spot on our '09 rankings as he proved he is a top player in the province.

EVENT 2024 Toronto Titans Tournament
Edgar was one of the top performers across all my viewings of the Titans Tournament, which was not a surprise as I entered the season quite high on his game. The key element that stood out was his tactical, controlled, and sometimes flashy puck handling. All over the ice, Edgar was weaving in and out of checks to dodge pressure, relying on his swift and calculated handling to maneuver around sticks and maintain possession. His head was always up processing what was in front of him, and when a defender tried to close him down, Eamon always had the right deke up his sleeve for the moment to skirt the check and off he went up ice. While most of his possessions were smart, tactical, and methodical, there were a handful of moments where he busted out an incredibly well-timed toe drag to skirt a defender that spoke to his high-end ability. His handling was at the core of his success, as it made him so successful at transporting pucks up ice with control without any threat of being dispossessed and accessing the dangerous parts of the ice almost at will. Of course, his dominance as a puck handler drove goals and scoring chances for the Panthers, but it was mainly the process behind it all that stood out to me. He thrived with the puck on his stick, rarely making a mistake, almost always operating with control, and was a key play driver for his squad. Entering the tournament, I knew Edgar was a top player to watch and would likely start the year somewhere on my top 20, but after his performance, I began thinking he would likely challenge for a spot much higher as he was just that dominant.

EVENT 2024 Alliance Face-Off
Edgar once again impressed for his tactical handling and how he used that to drive play. Especially through the neutral zone to gain controlled zone entries, Eamon was always skating with his head up, looking for ways to navigate defenders with clever moves to cross the offensive blue line. He was constantly scanning for threats and options and could spot the right path forward, even if it required relying on his puck skills to dangle his way out of danger. Eamon tallied an impressive goal, catching a pass with his back turned to the net, and all in one swift motion, caught the pass while getting square and then firing it past the goaltender. I've raved about Eamon's play previously this season, and it was just great to see his performance keep up after a really strong showing in many U15 views and the Titans Tournament.

Game Information Alliance U16 Playoffs
Eamon played exactly like I've come to expect, being that smart puck manager and playmaker who always makes the right decisions to link plays together. With the puck, he was patient, constantly scanning for options, and could always detect the right play for the moment. Edgar never rushed possessions, took his time, and, if he needed to, could rely on his handling to buy time and create space for him to operate. All of this resulted in Edgar dominating with the puck on his stick, controlling the play, and connecting on plenty of dangerous passes, including setting up Lisi with a backdoor pass that he finished.

Game Information 2025 Alliance All-Star Game
Edgar didn't find the scoresheet, but I thought he was the game's star. It was nothing fancy, and mainly just simple actions to link plays together, but they compounded to make for a stellar performance. Especially within his defensive zone, he supported the play well, always in the right spot to contest possession and win back control. Once he picked up a puck in his d-zone, he could always spot the next play, finding ways to exit his zone with control and help his line commence a rush. Eamon had plenty of nice sequences in the offensive zone to generate quality chances, but his play to get pucks out of his zone with control was the main theme in my notes.

Eamon Edgar was one of two support players for LA White that were of note despite it not being his team’s best effort I’d say. Springing Jax Pereira on a breakaway early, he slipped a pass between two defenders in the neutral zone, hitting Pereira in stride with a crisp heads-up pass. He had a few nice passes as such during the game, connecting on cross-ice passes through seams in transition and in the offensive zone. He had a nice look of his own jumping off the half wall, establishing a wide base to push the puck out wide around a defender and use his momentum to slip around them and whip a shot on net. He’s a pretty slippery skater with the puck and can get around defenders once he extends the stick and uses his frame and good balance to protect the puck.

Eamon Edgar was impossible to ignore for Team Canada 1. I felt a lot of what they accomplished was as a result of lucky breaks and dominant play of their top-players – but Edgar was strong throughout the entire match and applied nice levels of secondary scoring. He was a very pacey forward with the ability to change directions quickly, aiding himself and his team in transition via forming quick counters off turnovers, he was the type of player you want to hit with a pass in the neutral zone thanks to the speed he built in a few short steps. His speed crossing the line would occasionally get defenders spun around, giving him inroads to dart towards the net, dropping the shoulder and showing off some good strength and tenacity with the puck for a smaller forward. He fired quite a few shots on net from all over the ice. A few coming from within the house-region of the ice, he dipped in-and-out of coverage well and was hard to completely shutdown due to this dynamic nature without the puck.
