EVENT 2026 OHL Draft Final Evaluation
Projection: Bottom Six Forward
Tools: Explosiveness, Work Rate, Frame
Development Opportunities: Strength, Small Area Handling
I've liked Menary throughout the year, but he really caught my eye over the OHL Cup. The explosive skating, constant motor, and relentless puck pursuit were all going and made him jump off the page. He generates tons of power through his strides and was leveraging that skating to close down space and apply pressure on the forecheck. There have been flashes of offensive skill throughout the year, but the skating and compete is what has landed him at the tail end of our rankings.
The projection is someone who can skate at the OHL level and bring a forechecking and energy presence to the depth of a lineup. He likely won't be a huge offensive driver at the next level, but the foundation of athleticism and physical tools gives him a real path to carving out a role down the line.

Game Information 2026 OHL Cup vs. Vaughan
A smart and energetic forechecker, Jaxson Menary was able to make an impact for Vaughan playing all situations minutes. He was particularly active in his own end, making great defensive plays using his body and stick to occupy lanes and block passes and shots. He was also willing to be aggressive and create turnovers and cause chaos and disrupt the opposing offensive push. This in your face play kept up inside the offensive end as he forechecked hard and was able to battle for the puck, picking off pisses and creating turnovers all over the playing surface.
