EVENT 2024 CCM Challenge
Dumais was the most productive draft-eligible Blizzard player, finishing with 5 assists on 4 games thanks in large part to his astute playmaking ability. He’s a quick processor and distributor off the rush, pre-planning his touches so that he can get the puck off his stick quickly and through seams to hit teammates in stride. He created plenty of odd man advantages for his team by drawing pressure towards him on the flanks and slipping a puck through towards the interior. I thought he showed good timing on his off-puck routes to the front of the net as well, getting himself into seams to make himself a prime passing option and jumping on loose pucks as they jumped out to him in the slot.

EVENT 2024 Hockey Québec U16 Summer Camp
Followiing a common theme among Québec White forwards, Dumais was another diminutive yet highly skilled player who did a majority of his damage in transition. He liked to chip pucks past defenders in the neutral zone, chase it down in the offensive zone and get a shot off from the circle as he attacked downhill. His passing was hard and accurate, allowing him to be that much more effective off the rush by executing difficult cross-ice seam passes to set up dangerous plays. Dumais also flashed some serious one on one ability at times, utilizing plenty of toe drags and pull throughs to beat defenders and get himself into space for a chance from in close. It’ll be interesting to see if his game translates against older and stronger competition at the U18 level.

Game Information M18 AAA Québec: Séminaire St-François Blizzard vs Châteauguay Grenadiers
I thought Dumais was able to flash some impressive sequences as a puck distributor in transition, using his vision to spot options through traffic and execute seam passes through sticks and bodies to hit teammates in stride. He may not be the most powerful skater, but I thought his spatial awareness and scanning habits allowed him to properly anticipate pressure and allowed him to take good routes through the neutral zone and consistently gain the offensive blueline. Once he gained the line, I thought he did a good job of using pivots and delays to allow his teammates where he would then distribute the puck to an open man to set up lengthy offensive zone sequences.
