Green was one of the top defenders at the OHF championship. There were a few key elements that stood out in Peter's game, but the most prevalent was his eagerness to activate and get up the ice. While he didn't hesitate to rush the puck, I mainly appreciated his off-puck activations. Peter always wanted to get level with the puck carrier and be a passing option. There were so many moments of him getting up with the play, catching a pass, and sparking a rush chance. These activations to support the puck were crucial to the Flyers's transition game, making Green the defender I felt most impacted transition. On the defensive side of the puck, he broke up so many plays all over the ice. Mainly in the neutral zone, Peter was aggressive in applying pressure and stopped his opponents' transition in their tracks on many occasions. After winning possession, Green showed he could find passing options up ice, getting the Flyers back on the attack. I've watched the Flyers quite a bit since starting my untangling of the '09 Ontario ranks, and the OHF was the best I've seen from Peter, making me more comfortable adding him to our '09 birth-year rankings.

EVENT
2024 Port Huron Silver Stick
Green was one of the more impressive defenders in my viewings of Ontario skaters at the Port Huron Silver Stick. I've highlighted a few defenders from this event, mainly for their involvement rushing the puck, and while there was some of that in Peter's game, I noted him for a few other unique elements. He did a great job suppressing transitions in the neutral zone, jumping passes, and breaking up plays to regain possession for the Flyers. Green was always looking to be aggressive and, as a result, made life difficult for his opponents trying to enter his defensive zone. Within the offensive third, I noted that he was typically in motion, rotating into open space and trying to involve himself in offensive zone sequences. These two elements are something I am always looking for in defenders and were the key reason that made Green catch my eye.

EVENT
2024 Toronto Titans Tournament
With Green, I felt he was, at the very least, above average across the board in every category, making for a very impressive, well-rounded showing. Despite the all-around impact, I was mainly impressed with his ability to shut down play and then turn pucks around quickly. Especially defending in the neutral zone, he was aggressive at taking away time and space, thwarting his opponent's transitions and defending his blueline. After forcing a turnover, Green was more than capable as a puck mover, getting pucks up ice for his talented forwards to spark counterattacks. It wasn't anything flashy that ends up on a highlight reel, just a lot of simple and effective plays to win possession and then advance the puck up ice with control. He's a strong and mobile skater who showed flashes of activating up ice and chipping in offensively, but this theme of just being a solid and projectable defender who helped DMF stay out of their zone was my key takeaway. If I had to bet, I'd say Peter eventually lands in my first round after watching this Flyers team more, as I just was being a tad cautious with a few defenders before stamping them as a first-round player, but either way, he's certainly in the mix of this mushy tier of mid first to early second round calibre players.

The first word that came to my mind with Green was pressure. He put pressure on attackers, forcing them to play tight along the walls where he would use his physical play or stick to force a turnover. With the puck, he was very adept, moving it well on transitional exits and through neutral. He also displayed good processing, reading plays well, creating space for himself, and putting the puck in the right spot to keep plays going for the Flyers' offense.

CCM 68: TEAM USA 2 VS CANADA 3
His playing style grew on me as the game went along since he was active at the offensive zone blueline to pinch in proper spots and attempt to push play deeper in the zone a number of times. He can certainly look to finish a hit or step up into a gap at both bluelines depending on the situation. I came away thinking that I liked his decision making but his game would evolve with a bit more explosion from a stand still.
