The opening matchup for Shattuck St. Mary’s Prep and the Buffalo Jr. Sabres seemed not to actually begin until part way through the third period. Although there were some marks on the scoresheet earlier in the game, the overall engagement from both sides was minimal at best, and focused on the perimeter of the ice.
