EVENT MANITOBA 2024 U16 MALE POE SPRING SELECTION CAMP
You could see the puck control, skill, and variety of offensive flair to his game throughout the event. When I targeted him, he delivered skate to stick plays in motion, crisp backhanded passes to his wingers, and showed little touch passes and give and go style plays with teammates. I wondered what type of approach he would take as others were looking for end-to-end rushes and breakaway opportunities. I thought the scoring was a little quieter than I expected but the skill was still evident. After watching the games in full, he’s someone I might circle back on and just watch his shifts for part of the final assessment.

EVENT N/A
Most of the top Manitoba players moved to the Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg U15 Prep team while others stayed to be top performers in the WAAAU15. Forrest is one of the exceptions, as the 6’0 160 lbs forward has played the last two seasons with Pilot Mound Academy U15 Prep and leading them in scoring with 42 points in 27 games. Quite a lot of Pilot Mound’s production this season has come in good battles with other teams who are near the bottom of the league but Forrest has shown that his size, reach, puck control, and ability to separate at times off the rush have led to heavier shot release spots and a bit of creativity in stagnant games. Often you’ll find him continuing plays by kicking loose pucks up to his stick, opening his stance for quick release one-timers, and attacking in motion through transition with crossovers to his forehand and a heavier snap release. He’s got a lot of the pieces to be a solid player moving forward.
