Mooney has tremendous patience with the puck and is a great distributor. He isn’t the biggest guy on the ice at 5’8, but his speed and agility make him difficult to defend. Mooney setup Murtagh with a great pass through the seam on the powerplay in game one and followed it up with another powerplay assist in game two. His speed gives him the ability to push the pace of a game and drive a play, yet his patience allows him to slow the game down as well. He’s shifty and quick but struggled to create much offense outside of the powerplays, which could be due to the size of the Canadian squad.
