Misa was understated, but not at all ineffective. A player where the wonderful stuff is in the details, Misa could’ve easily come away with a significant number of assists across both games. A goal and two assists is a great showing across two games, but I value stuff not on a scoresheet quite a lot. He had some excellent backchecking and turnover generation on a few occasions that showcased his two-way abilities and capability to work off of almost anyone. Even on sloppy pass receptions and carries, he recovers quickly, attacking to gain possession and often successful. A bit of a silly penalty in game 1 aside, Misa was quiet but effective with strong details in his game. Strong skill in full flight on the rush, Misa popped his head up here and there but largely he was supplemental and effective over everything, but in the best way possible. You could be forgiven for being a little underwhelming, but he’s just such a smart, calculated player that keeps his game focused and effective on both sides of the puck.
