Partridge mainly wowed me with his play on the North Stars powerplay. He operated as the top man on the umbrella and was so effective at distributing the puck around the offensive zone. Chase was patient with the puck on his stick, always scanning for passing lanes, and when he spotted one, he was quick to thread pucks through. There were a few very similar sequences where he moved the puck from the top of the umbrella to a teammate open net front or beside the net, sparking scoring chances and a handful of goals through these types of passes. This passing game certainly had its moments at 5v5, but on the powerplay was where it really shined and showcased the playmaking ability that Partridge brings to the table.

I thought Chase was one of two key players making things happen for the North Stars. Partridge proved to be a patient and smart puck manager who could effectively link plays together to generate scoring chances. Much of this assessment stemmed from his constant ability to get pucks to the middle of the ice from an exterior position in the offensive zone. Chase frequently controlled play entering the offensive third, and used delays to buy time and space before spotting an open teammate in the slot area for scoring chances. He tallied an assist via this "playmaker from the exterior" theme, moving the puck from behind the net to a teammate in the slot who buried Partridge's pass.
