2022 QMJHL Draft Rankings - Midseason Update

Posted on Brayden Olafson

Today marks the release of our midseason rankings for the 2022 QMJHL Draft!

Back in October we shared a list of 50-players for our pre-season rankings, but have since added an additional 110 players for a total of 160.

Despite a few recent hiccups in regularly scheduled U18 AAA hockey in Eastern Canada, the season thus far has been excellent in giving us an opportunity to hone and refine our rankings. Each team in the QM18AAA and NSU18MHL has eclipsed the 25-game mark, while those in the NBPEIMHL have nearly reached 40 regular season contests. In addition, The Monctonian tournament provided a premiere opportunity to evaluate almost all relevant players from the Maritime region on an even slate, in addition to several from the RSEQ ranks of Quebec. The CCM Challenge tournament was held in La Baie in December, which brought together each of the M18 AAA teams from across Quebec for a similar feature. In addition to the AAA tournament, Hockey Quebec hosted a tournament consisting of players from the Espoir and RSEQ ranks, as well as a 2007-born all-star team.

In all, our list of 160 players is based on 350+ unique written player evaluations, plus countless non-written evaluations, beginning in the summer and lasting until the start of the recent hiatus.

After extensive evaluation and deliberation, our current top-10 players are as follows:

1 - C, Thomas Desruisseaux, Levis Chevaliers

2 - LW, Eliot Litalien, SSF Blizard

3 - LD, Adam Fortier-Gendron, Esther Blodin Phenix

4 - RW, William Shields, BK Selects

5 - C, Sacha Boisvert, Mount St. Charles Academy

6 - C, Quinn Kennedy, Halifax McDonalds

7 - LW, Tyron Fevry, Toronto Red Wings

8 - RD, Mathieu Taillefer, Saint-Hyacinthe Gaulois

9 - LD, Lincoln Waugh, Charlottetown Knights

10 - LW, Gabe Smith, Rothesay Netherwood School Riverhawks

The full rankings can be found by navigating to the Player Rankings tab, and selecting QMJHL from the Drafts dropdown list.
